Caffè Gusta’s logo features a condensed serif wordmark paired with an illustration of an Abruzzese mountain goat, il camoscio, standing powerfully on the edge of a cliff, representing an energetic, powerful start to a new day. The typeface and illustration create an intersection between the medieval aspect of Abruzzo and the boldness of espresso.
Caffè Gusta’s visual identity is defined by a cool-toned color palette, drawing inspiration from the landscape of Abruzzo. Including: Cresta (cliff), Capra (goat), Latte (milk), Mare (sea), Terra (ground) and Montagne (mountain). This intentional departure from the vibrant reds, greens, and golds of traditional Italian coffee branding establishes a classy, high-end aesthetic that separates Caffè Gusta from other brands.
Capturing the bold taste of Abruzzo.
Caffè Gusta focuses on bringing traditional Abruzzese coffee to other regions of the world, showing consumers that they can have café-quality coffee at home for a low cost.
Despite its popularity in Southern Europe and Latin America, making espresso at home is not common in many countries. In the United States, only 15% of people make espresso at home. Because espresso drinks are extremely popular in many coffee shops, designing an espresso brand that has timeless elements but still feels new will draw in first time buyers and increase the popularity of brewing espresso at home.
Caffè Gusta’s packaging design and branding combines both Abruzzese tradition and modernity.
